So, what is Coaching?

Sometimes called Life Coaching or Professional Coaching. And not to be mistaken for Sports Coaching – although a good coach will go the extra mile with you. And if that means hard work, sweat and tears then I've already got my metaphorical trainers on!

Over a series of sessions we'll identify and work together on your goals. If there's one word that I believe sums coaching up most effectively it's CHANGE. If you don't want things to be different then coaching probably isn't for you.

My role won't be to offer you advice, to listen to your problems or to stroke your ego. I'll be there to keep you on track and motivated, using skills and techniques to get you thinking about things in a different way. As the saying goes: "If we keep doing things in the same way, we'll get the same results."

It's worth making it clear that coaching isn't counselling or therapy, although I am wholeheartedly an advocate of both. This doesn't mean that we'll ignore emotions – quite the opposite – but as your coach I won't be as interested in the 'story' as much as the impact and how we use emotion to evolve and move forward.
